Every day, some 250,000 people around the world graduate from extreme poverty. And since 1990, we’ve cut in half the number of people who live in extreme poverty. Yet 7 out of 10 people think that poverty has only increased.
How do we change this? Changing opinions isn’t easy, it’s hard work. But engaging people in conversation is a good starting point that can have wide-ranging impact. That’s why we’re challenging you to change 3 people’s minds about poverty – talk to your neighbor, your family, your best friend, or even that person you bump into on the street. Ask them whether they think poverty is increasing or decreasing around the world. Let them know that poverty is decreasing globally – How did they react?! We’ve put together this simple infographic for you to use, numbers that illustrate the progress we’re making. With your help, we can change opinions. Because poverty isn’t permanent.
