China to promote organic fertilizer

China’s Minister of Agriculture, Han Changfu, announced in the use of chemical fertilizers, reported Xinhua. This is an upgrade of the ministry’s previous commitment to cap the use of chemical fertilizers by 2020. The measures include updating farming practices, and using technology, to promote efficiency in the use of fertilizer. The ministry will also support major producers of fruit, vegetables and teas to use organic alternatives to chemical fertilizers. China is currently the biggest producer and user of chemical fertilizers in the world.
