Countries will now find reporting on their forest resources considerably easier, following the release earlier this month of a new FAO online platform that allows them to provide forest data that is more consistent, reliable and transparent. Developed by FAO with financial support from the European Union and the Government of Finland, the platform will be a key resource for the 236 countries and territories engaging in the latest Global Forest Resources Assessment (FRA), a major FAO global data compilation and reporting exercise that takes place every five years.
