Celebrating Year of the Tiger

Dear Jon

Today we welcome the Year of the Tiger! 🐯

The tiger is a symbol of strength and bravery, and while these strikingly beautiful creatures should be celebrated, it is important that we don’t lose sight of the threats that they face. Otherwise, the next time this celebration comes around in 2034, the species honoured may no longer exist.

Today as few as 3,800 tigers remain in the wild, seeing a devastating 96% decrease in just 100 years. The illegal trade in tigers and tiger parts is driving this species to extinction.

David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) adopts a holistic approach to conservation to fight wildlife crime, protect endangered species and
engage with local communities and global audiences.

As well as calling for a total ban in all tiger parts and derivatives, we fund ground-based tiger conservation projects in India, Thailand and Russia, including undercover investigations and exposés into the illegal wildlife trade.

In the last 12 months, DSWF has supported the protection of 27,197 km2 of prime tiger habitat and we need your help to continue this vital conservation work.

What better way to celebrate the Year of the Tiger than to show your  support for this incredible species?
