"I paint fleeting moments of great beauty,” says John Burns about his work. He travels Sonoma County in the mornings and late afternoons, times of day when the effects of light and shadow rapidly change, creating shapes and colors that are transitory—and wonderful. John’s excitement at beholding such beauty is the driving force behind his paintings. He adds, “I create art so that people can share the joy and gratitude I experience being present at such moments.”
John paints in oils and pastels, choosing the medium that best helps him tell the story. Another prominent local painter, Warren Bellows, wrote about John's paintings: "Your artistry is what is impressive! Your paintings have magic in them.” Sandy Bennett McGrath wrote: “I LOVE your work. My heart expands with delight and joy when I spend time with your creations.” You may preview his work at:
www.johnburnsfineart.com. Although you may not know John Burns’s name, you certainly know his other line of work. He has created the logos for Goldfish Crackers, Ruffles, Sara Lee, Oscar Mayer and many other products. He has been painting for twenty years, but this summer is the first time John has made his paintings available to the public. We are pleased to be the first gallery to show his work.
