Dear Colleagues,
Many of you may be interested in a background analytical study written for the UNFF and that the UNFF has now made available on its website in the context of the UNFF 13 meetings at the United Nations Headquarters in NYC (May 7th-11th).
The UNFF background study is linked to a larger and far more detailed report put together by an IUFRO Global Forest Expert Panel (GFEP) on Forests and Water of which I was a part and which will come out in mid-July in the context of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). You may be interested in reading the discussion in the UNFF report in anticipation of the IUFRO report,.
For the link to the UNFF background study, click here. If you are interested in an overview of the UNFF 13 and access to related documents, including both my background study, as well as several other background studies written for the UNFF by other authors, click here (see the section on "Background Analytical Studies" in the list of headings).
And in case you may have missed it, here is a link to a paper published last year in Global Environmental Change: Trees, forests and water: Cool insights for a hot world, that has served to fuel much of the current discussion.
Please feel free to share with others.
David Ellison
