I had an article on VinFast published by the South China Morning Post earlier this week, where I looked at whether wealthy domestic consumers can be convinced to buy their luxury cars over established competitors like BMW and Mercedes.
VinFast recently signed an agreement with FastGo, a local ride-hailing app, in which the former will provide cars to the latter for its services. Accordingly, VinFast will hand over 1,500 of their hatchback model to FastGo, before eventually delivering luxury sedans as well. FastGo, in case you aren't familiar with the name, has made numerous headlines over the last year with bold claims about expanding to major overseas markets and launching a helicopter-hailing service, but it is practically invisible on the streets here.
