I'll close this week with a bit of aviation news. Bamboo Airways has received approval to triple its fleet from 10 planes to 30 by 2023. The airline has lost US$14 million since its first flight in April, and has 200 excess pilots on payroll since they are already staffed for 30 planes. (I simply do not understand this.)
Meanwhile, national carrier Vietnam Airlines has upgraded an agreement it has with Delta. The two will now operate code-share flights to the US via Tokyo, with VNA running the Vietnam-Japan leg and Delta handling the Tokyo-US segment. This means you can now book flights to the US that Delta offers through the VNA website.
