Hi Jon,
Sixteen-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg just pulled an Alexander Hamilton and sailed (literally) into the New York harbor to
turn the world upside down. She’s here in the US of A for the upcoming UN climate talks, and to lead the Global Climate Strike on September 20.
Greta won’t be striking alone. Millions of people across the globe are planning to walk out of their classrooms, homes, and workplaces on September 20 to demand that our leaders take real action to build a safe, clean future — for everyone. You’re not gonna want to miss the start of this seriously historic moment — find a climate strike in your community and sign up to join! This global strike is kind of a big deal. For months now, our generation has been stepping up and speaking out. Students have been striking every Friday to demand action. But this time, we’re asking everyone else to join us. Because we know that when we all stand together, we cannot be ignored.
No matter where you join a strike, whether you join millions of people in the streets or walk out of your classroom alone, you’ll be part of a powerful movement that spans the entire globe. That’s pretty dang cool.
For making history (or… herstory — all the stories),

Advocacy Coordinator, Defend Our Future
P.S. We’re running out of time to make a real impact against the climate crisis.
That’s why it’s so crucial we don’t wait to take action — get started by joining a strike in your community on September 20!
