COP23: Global climate talks

Friends,
In early November, the Trump administration will join world leaders in Bonn, Germany for COP23, the global U.N. climate talks.
Here’s the thing: The U.S. delegation, made up of fossil fuel puppets and climate deniers like Scott Pruitt and Rex Tillerson, isn’t there to support bold climate action -- they’re there to serve the interests of Big Polluters and try to bully the world into accepting their oily agenda.
We’re not buying it. It’s time for them to step back so the rest of us can move forward.
Tell Rex Tillerson and the rest of the Trump administration: Stop undermining the climate talks. We’ll deliver your signatures to them in person at the climate talks in Germany.
We’re coordinating our own alternative delegation -- the U.S. Peoples Delegation -- representing frontline communities, indigenous partners, youth, communities of color, advocates, policymakers, and organizations who are pushing for climate action at the city and state level.
But with Rex Tillerson, the former Exxon CEO at its helm, the State Department will be pushing their agenda more aggressively, showing their underlying fossil fueled profit motives.
We can’t let them -- it’s up to us to stand in solidarity with the U.S. Peoples Delegation and our allies across the Global South to expose the role of the U.S. in these climate talks and highlight the solutions our communities are pushing on the ground. Will you join us?
Let the Trump administration know you support countries around the world working towards climate solutions and advancing people-first climate policies.
The climate crisis is no longer a future threat: it’s a clear and present danger. For countries to meet their commitments, they must keep fossil fuels in the ground and transition towards 100% renewable energy, now.
We can’t let world leaders, especially not ours, abandon their responsibility to us and the planet. Thanks for holding Trump and his fossil fuel cronies accountable with us.
Onwards,
Thanu
