Climate Forests: the case for protecting ancient forests

Watch our recent WildEarth Webinar: Climate Forests

Take action for ancient forests today!

 Dear Jon,

As a believer in the Wild, you’ll want to hear what Guardians staff and expert guests had to say in our conversation on how critical mature and old-growth forests are to solving the climate and biodiversity crises.

On April 20 we hosted a webinar with over 100 advocates. Special guests included Chris Krupp, WildEarth Guardians Public Lands Attorney; Dr. David Mildrexler, Systems Ecologist, Eastern Oregon Legacy Lands; Jim Furnish, former USFS Deputy Chief and Guardians Board Member; and Dr. Carolyn Ramírez, Staff Scientist, Natural Resources Defense Council. Thank you to those who joined us! You can view the recording here.

I received this note after the event:

Best science I've heard from anyone I support. Reaffirms wisdom in 'investing' in you guys.

Help us fight climate change and save mature and old-growth forests by signing this petition today. We’re calling on the Biden administration to follow up on their recent executive order and enact a strong, lasting rule across all federal public lands to protect mature and old-growth forests from further logging, allowing them to recover what has been lost.

Finally, I ask you to contribute to Guardians’ Climate Forest Legal campaign and support our work to protect forests, rivers, and wildlife across the American West!

Thanks again for your interest, passion, and support of WildEarth Guardians. Please share this webinar with others who are passionate about protecting the Wild. Together, we’ll continue to make a big difference for wild rivers, wild places, wildlife, and our climate. Please get in touch with any additional questions.

P.S. We’ll host more WildEarth Webinars on campaigns and issues this year, so stay tuned for information on our next one.

WildEarth Guardians protects and restores the wildlife, wild places, wild rivers, and health of the American West.
