In an amazing bit of news, the share of renewable energy in Vietnam's total energy capacity has already passed the goal set for 2020. The government had aimed for a 7% renewable share by next year, yet it has already hit 9%.
Earlier this month, Southeast Asia's largest solar farm opened in Tay Ninh Province, and Dong Nai Province has proposed eight huge solar projects on a lake there.

In order to shore up supply, Vietnam will import liquefied natural gas from Louisiana, as China continues to hamper production in waters off the coast here.
