Finally, the second tropical storm of the year made landfall near Hai Phong early yesterday morning, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to several northern provinces.
As of writing the only casualties were a couple who died in Thanh Hoa Province when a landslide caused a bridge they were driving over to collapse.
Mun also made life unpleasant on Cat Ba Island, though it seems the area escaped any major damage. This certainly won't be the last storm of the year, as the season ramps up in August and September.
