Dear colleagues,
FAO is organizing a live demo of the new version of System for Earth Observation Data Access, Processing and Analysis for Land Monitoring (SEPAL). The webinar will be hosted in both English and French.
In English:
Date: 11 July
Time: 14:00 CEST
In French
Date: 12 July
Time: 14:00 CEST
The session will demonstrate the new SEPAL features and review the basics of using the platform to create optical and radar mosaics, as well as image classification. The webinar will include an interactive Q&A session with SEPAL experts Erik Lindquist and Remi D’Annunzio.
The webinar will be recorded but do take the opportunity to join the discussion and provide feedback.
Please note that the French version of this webinar will be held on 12 Jule at 14:00. More info: http://www.fao.org/redd/news/ detail/fr/c/1200910/
About SEPAL
The cloud-based SEPAL computing platform facilitates countries’ access to Earth observation data as well as processing of that data. An easy-to-use computing platform, SEPAL allows countries to overcome processing issues related to poor internet connections or low computing power on local computers.
The new SEPAL 2.1 version has never been more user-friendly. The platform features a new responsive design providing data that is easily viewable and usable regardless of the device (mobile, tablet, desktop) - all thanks to cutting-edge monitoring tools.
It features improved and expanded functionality for mosaic creation of optical and radar data (including Landsat and Sentinel data fusion, Sentinel-1 composites), time-series analysis, and the inclusion of Jupyter Notebooks.
The platform has now reached more than 3 000 active users, allowing them to produce robust results spanning a range of applications from mosaic-style renderings of land cover, forest disturbances, fires and pest infestation to dynamic flood maps and initiatives geared to peatland conservation and restoration.
The new version of SEPAL is available at https://sepal.io. Sign up today to get access and process critical historical satellite data as well as newer data from Landsat and Europe’s Copernicus programme directly from your computer, mobile phone or tablet.
