Jon - check out these kids

Jon, some of the most inspiring heroes on Change are not even old enough to vote.

As kids across America head back to school, learn how some of our youngest petition starters are having the biggest impact.
The Last Straw.
By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. That is the reality 10-year-olds Sophia and Amanda learned in their science class. Instead of just tuning out, they decided to do something.

Sophia and Amanda started a petition asking Dunkin' Donuts to stop giving out plastic straws unless requested. They believe that the influential company can adopt their policy idea and inspire other businesses to follow. Together, a massive reduction in plastic straw usage could prevent tons of plastic from ending up in landfills and in our oceans.

Demanding Justice.
Zaynub was 16 years old when she launched a massive global movement to save Noura Hussein. Noura, just 16 years old herself, is facing the death penalty for killing her rapist in self defense. Adding to the tragedy is the fact that Noura’s rapist was also her husband who she was forced to marry against her will.

Despite never meeting Noura, Zaynub was ready to take action on her behalf. She launched a petition on Change that went on to recruit the support of more than 1.7 million people from around the globe.

The fight to save Noura continues and Zaynub is not letting her age stop her from making an impact. She is sharing updates with her petition signers, posting videos, and has done numerous interviews that have been seen worldwide.

Brewing Change.
Eve and her classmate Mya were only 12 years old when they took on one of the biggest companies in the world, Starbucks. After learning about how billions of Starbucks single-use coffee cups were causing the destruction of forests around the world, these two young superheroes asked Starbucks to create a sustainable cup.

Eve and Mya’s mission would gain 300,000 signatures and the attention of the CEO of Starbucks. After meeting with Eve and Mya, Starbucks announced they would invest $10 million dollars in creating a fully compostable, recyclable cup. Their campaign was a victory!
