Global Climate Action Summit Superheroes Event

Visionary Bertrand Piccard Headlines the Global Climate Action Summit Superheroes Event, with 21 Other Luminaries, Leaders, and Innovators from 12 Different Countries

San Francisco, CA—August 31, 2018—Visionary maverick and inventor Bertrand Piccard, the force behind the first solar airplane to circle the globe using only solar power, will present the Keynote Address at the symposia “Superheroes for Sustainable and 100% Renewable Energy: Global Strategies for Decision-Makers,” a Global Climate Action Summit Affiliate Event on September 11 at the Center for Impact at the California College of the Arts.

This watershed day-long convening of many of the best minds in renewable and sustainable energy policy and solutions complements Governor Jerry Brown’s Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco, imagining a 100% renewable energy future that will enable achievement of global climate goals under the Paris Agreement. A select group of high-level leaders, global experts, policy makers, strategists, and technologists from twenty-one internationally renowned organizations, all working collectively at the cutting edge of climate change, will convene to highlight strategies, tactics, and technologies needed by corporate, public, and private decision-makers to succeed.  Participating panelists hail from organizations based in Switzerland, France, Germany, Denmark, Austria, the Netherlands, China, Costa Rica, Lebanon, New Delhi,  Australia, and the United States.

Also featured for the Closing Address is the Honorable Mayor Steve Skadron of Aspen, Colorado, who spearheaded the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Toolkit.  This groundbreaking invention captured 24 years of city climate action work to identify best practices into a toolkit designed for governments to tailor strategies to their specific needs.
