Some researchers say the jury is still out
on coconut oil. 

Others say this tropical oil, in its natural
non-hydrogenated form, has many
beneficial effects. It is rich in lauric acid,
which is known to be antiviral, antibacterial
and antifungal. 

While there are no large-scale studies,
startling anecdotal evidence comes from
caregivers who  say virgin coconut oil has
reduced some of the devastating effects of
Alzheimer's on their loved ones.
