Dear colleagues,
Join us in discovering the City Finance Lab and the Northern Gateway project in Greater Manchester. Learn more about inspiring financing mechanisms that could help bring your project to light on the 4th June, 4pm CET.
The City Finance Lab is Europe’s first dedicated platform supporting the development of innovative, replicable and scalable financing solutions that increase investment in climate-resilient, low-carbon and green urban projects for sustainable cities. Nature-based solutions represent a key opportunity for cities, having both climate change mitigation and adaptation benefits. However, cities have struggled to finance such projects due to difficulties in monetizing their benefits. Innovative financing solutions dedicated to cities and nature-based solutions can be developed and have the potential to unlock significant public and private sector financing for such projects. Discover Greater Manchester’s Northern Gateway project and participate in learning more about impact investing for your city-forest nexus.

The City Finance Lab (CFL), a joint venture between EIT Climate-KIC and South Pole, is a dedicated platform supporting the development of innovative, replicable and scalable financing solutions that increase investment in climate-resilient, low-carbon and green urban projects for sustainable cities.
Cities4Forests is an initiative by Pilot Projects, REVOLVE and the World Resources Institute helping cities from around the world connect with and invest in inner forests (such as city trees and urban parks), nearby forests (such as green corridors and watersheds) and faraway forests (such as tropical and boreal forests). We encourage our cities to better conserve, manage, and restore these forests. And we provide technical assistance to align local policy, shared knowledge, peer-to-peer learning and communication activities in order to help cities take climate action together.
