The first local regulations on biodiversity conservation will be implemented in Yunnan province – a biodiversity hotspot – from the start of 2019, reports Chinanews.com. According to Xinhua, lists of species and ecosystems are clearly established in the regulation. Meanwhile, introducing alien species into nature reserves without authorisation is strictly forbidden, and subject to a maximum fine of 150,000 yuan.
