Over the past 20 years, the “Snow Dragon” polar icebreaker and research vessel has undertaken nine scientific expeditions to the Arctic Ocean, reports the Science and Technology Daily. The ship recently returned to Shanghai after conducting an in-depth study on ocean acidification, which is soaring because of carbon dioxide emissions. It found that in the past 20 years, acidification in the Arctic Ocean has increased by 6.7 times the global average.
