Overview:
The Bonn Challenge is a global effort to bring 150 million hectares of degraded and deforested land into restoration by 2020 and 350 million hectares by 2030. The Barometer of Progress is helping countries track progress on their restoration interventions, publicize progress on commitments and unlock international support to address bottlenecks.

The brown bag session will share progress on forest landscape restoration (FLR) as identified through the 2018 application of the Bonn Challenge Barometer in the World, share the online portal for data submission and discuss next steps. The Barometer framework is designed to track progress on Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) through a focus on factors that enable implementation, identifying actual area under implementation and expected benefits to the landscape. The talk will also present updates from IUCN’s work to implement the Barometer in Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia region as part of the Astana declaration commitments.
