China has achieved a major and decisive victory in its COVID-19
prevention and control since November 2022, the Standing
Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central
Committee said at a meeting on Thursday.
The country's COVID-19 cases fell to the lowest on February 6 since
December 9, 2022, according to data from the Chinese Center for Disease Control
and Prevention, and its COVID-19 fatality rate remained the world's lowest.

to estimates from the World Health Organization (WHO), China's COVID-19 control
measures may have prevented more than 50,000 people from dying between 2020 and
