The perils of COVID-19 in China

The capital of south China's Hainan Province, Sanya, is currently experiencing a new round of the COVID-19 outbreak. 

Here are the latest headlines:

·         A second makeshift hospital that can accommodate 2,000 patients is ready to be put in use on Thursday

·         Chinese health authorities say they have so far deployed more than 10,000 personnel from 19 different regions and provinces to support Hainan

·         China eases COVID-19 suspension measures for international flights

·         Stranded passengers in south China's Hainan Province who meet epidemic prevention requirements were allowed to leave the island from Tuesday in batches
