China's State Council
released a white paper on
August 10 regarding the Taiwan question and the reunification of China in the
new era. The move follows U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi's recent

provocation.
What does it
say?
·
It says the Communist
Party of China (CPC) has made efforts to
realize complete reunification
·
The white paper
stresses the process of reunification cannot be halted, because the CPC and the
Chinese government have the strength and the confidence to deal with
complexities and overcome risks and threats
·
It reviews the Chinese
government's efforts to promote peaceful cross-Strait relations, integrates the
development of the two sides, and work toward national reunification
