The Asian Games are less than 30 days away, and preparations are nearing
completion in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province.
After a half-year of training, the 37,000 volunteers took their oaths on
Thursday, pledging to do their best to care for the many athletes and guests
who will descend on the city.
The athletes’ village is nearly ready. In
addition to 10,000 athletes and team officials, it will also accommodate 4,000
technical officials and 5,000 journalists.
To the north of Hangzhou, the city of Huzhou will play co-host for some events,
including the 3x3 basketball tournament. The venue is the world’s
first permanent 3x3 basketball stadium.
