Fukushima discharge greeted with protests

China and other countries condemned Japan for going ahead with its plan to start releasing treated radioactive wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean.

Beijing banned all seafood imports from Japan, and Seoul is continuing its own ban on imports from the Fukushima region. Protests have erupted in Asian countries, including Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and even Fiji.
