Meet China's new Foreign Minister, Qin Gang

Qin Gang, currently the Chinese ambassador to the United States, was appointed as China's new foreign minister on Friday. 

Qin, 56, replaces Wang Yi, who has been foreign minister for the past decade. 

Qin is the 11th Chinese ambassador to the United States, assuming office in July 2021. 

Prior to his ambassadorship, he was Chinese vice foreign minister.
