Go for Climate +++ Attend COP 25 +++ Creative Fundraising

Plant-for-the-Planet

Dear readers,
I am Camilla, 24 years old, and I am a cinematographer and athlete. And I will walk to Africa. During a speech held by German development minister Gerd Müller I learned about Africa's role in the climate crisis. Should the 54 countries in Africa copy our CO2-intensive path, the climate catastrophe is certain. Yet there is huge potential for solutions to our problems, from new forests to power from deserts.

I contacted Felix, the founder of Plant-for-the-Planet and young people from all over the world. And now the time has come: We are starting Go for Climate. We will pass through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, France and Spain until we will take the boat to reach Morocco.

Our destination: the world’s biggest solar park in Ouarzazate. On Friday, 22 November I will meet fellow campaigners from Africa.

On the way I will let myself - and all of us - be encouraged. To achieve this we will meet climate neutral companies and communities and people like the actor Hans Sigl, who motivates his fans to the simplest of all solutions:  planting trees.

You can join too by planting in our app:
im Google Playstore: bit.ly/31Nu9XL
im App Store: apple.co/2TLVXJn
im Web: trilliontreecampaign.org.
Or you can walk along. Check where I am here: goforclimate.org/treck
Let’s start moving! There is only one direction: Forwards!

Yours Camilla

Scientists confirm
Climate targets only achievable with reforestation

Finally, a study by the Crowther Lab shows that the restoration of the Earth’s forests is the most effective solution to target the climate crisis. At the heart of this study is a global map showing the potential for reforestation. An area the size of the US could be reforested. That’s 0.9 billion hectares. At Plant-for-the-Planet, we are proud of this study. The Crowther Lab has been inspired by us, the children at Plant-for-the-Planet!

Reforestation on the Yucatán Peninsula
One Day in Mexico

It’s rainy season now in Mexico, and that means: planting season. Our workers are planting thousands of trees every day. Since March, forest engineer Alejandra Rayas Ruíz is part of the Plant-for-the-Planet family in Mexico. She tells us why the workers’ days begin in the very early morning and what amazing animals are living on the planting area.
