2022 saw droughts, floods, hurricanes, and storms. More than 7 million people were displaced by floods in Pakistan. Hurrican Ian resulted in widespread damage in Cuba and the southeast of the US. The drought in Europe was the continent’s worst in 500 years. China saw both floods and droughts. Brazil faced the worst drought for decades which lastest most of the year. Predictably enough, COP27 achieved nothing to address the climate crisis.
