Explore the ocean like never before

Dear Mr. Jon Anderholm,

I want to commend you for your extraordinary commitment to protecting the lands and waters that sustain us all. As one of our most loyal and generous supporters, you understand the importance of protecting nature for tomorrow. Loyal members like you have helped us make incredible strides in our efforts to protect threatened habitats around the world.

You are a partner in all our conservation efforts and your support helps keep important work moving forward.

For example, we reached a huge milestone by creating the first-ever detailed maps of coral reefs and other essential habitats throughout the entire Caribbean basin. This is a vital step in conservation because these high-resolution maps help us better protect coral reefs that sustain threatened species like sea turtles.

We cannot protect what we can't see, and with these advanced maps we now know where our help is needed most. There are so many unique species that dwell within the Earth's oceans, and the more we learn about the habitats on which they depend, the better able we are to protect them. Explore this collection of underwater photos from around the world — it's sure to inspire you and show you what's at stake.

In the next decade, The Nature Conservancy aims to conserve 650 million hectares of healthy land, 30 million hectares of freshwater, and 4 billion hectares of oceans. Your support is essential in making conservation progress like this possible.

As you view the stunning photo collection and reminisce about your favorite ocean memory, I hope you're reminded of why you've chosen to do your part for nature — and why we must continue to protect the places we love for generations to come. Together, we can do even more to safeguard our oceans, marine life, and the natural world we all share.

Thanks for being with us — your support means so much!

With gratitude,

Dave Strauss
