UN General Assembly President Csaba Korosi is visiting China from
February 1-4 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Qin Gang.
Qin Gang affirmed that the UNGA is the most universal and representative
charter body of the United Nations. Qin also added that China will
bring new opportunities to
the world with China's development, and both sides addressed the 2030
Sustainable Development Goals.
No matter how the international situation changes,
China will unswervingly follow the road of peaceful development, adhere to the
basic state policy of reform and opening-up, pursue an open strategy of mutual
benefit and win-win outcome, promote the common values of peace, development,
fairness, justice, democracy and freedom for all mankind, develop itself
through extensive international exchange and cooperation, and also provide new
opportunities for world development, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said.
Chinese State Councilor Wang Yi also met
with Csaba Korosi in Beijing on Thursday and said China is ready to
enhance cooperation with the United
Nations to tackle global challenges, including water resources,
climate change and biodiversity, and the country is willing to work with others
to safeguard the international order with the UN at its core.
