Bagging medals and creating history, every day!

As the Tokyo Olympics nears a close, check out China's Olympic talent and their victories from Tokyo: 

Table Tennis

  • China remains undefeated in women's team table tennis. Chinese trio Chen Meng, Sun Yingsha, and Wang Manyu beat their Japanese rivals 3-0 in the women's team table tennis final at the Tokyo Olympics on Thursday, winning Team China's 34th gold medal.
  • Chinese table tennis star Chen Meng lived up to her status as world number one by winning the women's singles gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, winning an all-China final over teammate Sun Yingsha 4-2 last week. 

Diving

  • Chinese teenager Quan Hongchan won the gold medal in the women's 10-meter platform diving finals at the Tokyo Olympic Games on Thursday. The 14-year-old is the event's youngest contender and also the youngest member of Team China.

Triple Jump

  • Chinese veteran Zhu Yaming unleashed a breathtaking performance to take a historic silver medal in the men's triple jump at the Tokyo Olympic Games on Thursday. The 27-year-old Asian champion scored a personal best of 17.57 meters in his fifth jump, which earned him the silver. He became the first Chinese ever to win an Olympic silver in the men's triple jump event.  

Badminton

  • Chen Yufei won the gold medal in women's singles badminton by edging Tai Tzu-ying of Chinese Taipei 2-1 in the final on Sunday. Chen's victory brought the title back to China after a streak of four straight Olympic golds was broken five years ago in Rio de Janeiro.

Gymnastics

  • Chinese gymnast Guan Chenchen won a gold medal for the women's balance beam at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday. 16-year-old Guan, a balance beam specialist, topped the competition in 14.633 points, trailed by her teammate Tang Xijing in 14.233 points.
  • 23 year-old Chinese gymnast Zou Jingyuan bagged a gold medal in the men's parallel bars at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday. Zou topped the competition with 16.233 points, followed by German Lukas Dauser with 15.700 points. Turkey's Ferhat Arican took bronze with 15.633 points.

Weightlifting

  • Chinese weightlifter Wang Zhouyu pocketed a gold medal in the women's 87kg weightlifting event at the Tokyo Olympic Games on Monday. The Chinese weightlifting team has now won six gold medals in seven categories in Tokyo. 


But wait, it's not over yet!

The Tokyo 2020 Summer Games may be winding down, but things are already gearing up in China, which is now in the final stages of preparations for the Winter Olympics happening in six months.
