Watch: Owl 'Swims' for Its Life in Rare Video

|     0:58    |     NEWS    |

Sometimes capturing rare nature video is just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. Such was the case with hikers in a slot canyon between Arizona and Utah, who filmed a young great horned owl “swimming”. There’s something riveting about watching the owl awkwardly try to swim through the canyon to dry land, a stark difference from the graceful way they glide through the air. The fledgling swimmer likely fell from a nest on the cliff ledge, and owls are unable to take off into the air from water.
