Ban Gioc waterfall tourism site planning approved

The PM has ratified a master plan on construction of Ban Gioc waterfall tourism site. Accordingly, the tourism site will become a tourism draw of northern Cao Bang province, serving socio-economic development and national security protection as well. The tourism site has a total area of 1,000 hectares. It has a tourism centre of 156.7 hectares. It expects to attract 750,000 visitors by 2020 and about 1.2 million by 2020. The number of hotel rooms will be increased from 1,010 by 2020 to 1,750 by 2030. Under the master plan, a centre area of Ban Gioc waterfall tourism site consists of four regions, including Ban Gioc landscape, and scenery area along the Quay Son River; hill and mountain ecological landscape, and agricultural ecological landscape. The Ban Gioc landscape has a total area of 20 hectares, including major waterfall, auxiliary waterfall, paddy field, pine hill, and perennial tree system. In addition, construction projects will be embellished. The scenery area along the Quay Son River has a total area of 22 hectares. The agricultural ecological landscape covers 31 hectares, consisting paddy fields namely Toong Dua, Na Gao, To Ma, and Na Giao. Ban Gioc – Detian Falls is a collective name for two waterfalls on the Quay Sơn River that straddle the international border between China and Viet Nam. The waterfall is 272 km (169 mi) north of Ha Noi.
