Did you know that roughly 2 million wild kangaroos are slaughtered every year so that brands like Nike and Adidas can make soccer shoes? 

SPCA International has partnered with Animal Wellness Action on a new campaign, Kangaroos Are Not Shoes, to call for an end to the use of kangaroo leather in shoe manufacturing. 


Every year the adults of this iconic Australian species are senselessly slaughtered so their skin can be used to make soccer shoes and their joeys are bludgeoned to death. There are so many alternative materials that these companies could use to prevent these needless deaths.

The 2020 Australian bushfires took the lives of one billion animals, together we can prevent the loss of more lives by demanding these companies stop using kangaroo leather to make their athletic shoes.

We cannot let this continue, we must stop the killing. Please don't wait, kangaroos are counting on you, sign the petition today!
