The once-hugely successful 1980s West Berlin pop band are set to play a gig in Hanoi's National Convention Center.
The performance on March 7 will mark the third time Modern Talking has performed in Vietnam — 4,000 people attended their most recent show in 2018, according to VnExpress
The pop duo are one of the most successful German outfits of all time, having racked up 130 million album sales since they formed in 1983.
The band's most well-known songs, all from the height of their fame in the mid-80s, include 'You're My Heart, You're My Soul,' 'You Can Win If You Want,' 'Cheri, Cheri Lady,' 'Brother Louie,' 'Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. for Love)' and 'Geronimo's Cadillac.'
For a taste of their eloquent magic, check out the track below. Delightfully camp, woefully produced and synth-drenched, the video simultaneously represents everything that was right and wrong with 'sleek' 80s pop music. Just look at that searing gaze, and you know you're in his heart, you're in his soul.
Modern Talking remain hugely popular in Vietnam, but they aren't the only German band to have attained mass popularity here. West German disco outfit Boney M also has a huge following in Vietnam
The concert will take place at the National Convention Center. The cheapest ticket is VND1 million (US$43). Tickets are available online here
