Keep Food Cool Without Electricity

Hi Jon

The Pot in Pot method of keeping food
cool in hot climates is even becoming
popular among people in the West who
wish to reduce their dependency on a
big energy sucking refrigerator.

The method is very simple: There are
two clay pots, one inside the other.

In between there is sand that is filled
with water a few times a day, which
evaporates and removes heat.

This video is filmed in Gambia, and
shows us that if the farmers have a
storage system, it changes everything.

No need to dump wilting produce at the
day's end anymore.

Keep it cool and sell it tomorrow.
No electricity needed!
