With this new video, the UN-REDD Programme proudly advocates for and takes action to position ethnic minorities as a key factor to forest and climate solutions, partnering with the Government of Viet Nam and other countries from Southeast Asia in first-of-a-kind regional ethnic minority dialogue and coalition building.
The video was produced by the UN-REDD Viet Nam Phase II Programme and showcased at the "Regional Conference on Ethnic Minorities: Harmonizing Culture, Environmental and Economic Development for Mountainous and Ethnic Minorities Areas" held in Thai Nguyen, Viet Nam, on 18-19 September 2017. This was a high-level conference with the participation of ministers from five countries including Viet Nam (Ministry of CEMA - Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs), Laos (Ministry of Home Affairs), Cambodia (Ministry of Cults and Religion), Thailand (Ministry of Socio Development and Human Security), Myanmar (Ministry of Border Affairs).
