Dear Jon,
We just broke the Guinness World Records™ title for largest display of origami elephants—78,564! Thanks to thousands of people like you, we sent a powerful message that the world will not stand by as elephants disappear.
For this #ElephantOrigamiChallenge, we received elephants from all 50 U.S. states and over 40 different countries. Origami of all shapes and sizes, colors and patterns, arrived from places as far away as India and Iran. All told, 204,481 pieces came in—far more than we had the ability to process for this record.
You can also check out a 360-degree view of the record-breaking collection on our website, 96elephants.org.
We could not have reached this milestone without the dedication of our incredible partners, especially OrigamiUSA. To learn more about origami, find origami diagrams, an online magazine, and the opportunity to take live online origami classes, visit OrigamiUSA.org.
The outpouring of support from around the globe was overwhelming and means so much to me and the team. Thank you for everything that you do to help save elephants.
Sincerely,
Rachel Libretti Director, Partnerships and Events
