China's most powerful
carrier rocket, the Long March-5B (LM-5B),
is ready to transport one of the key modules necessary to assemble the
country's space station.
At present, China's space station complex is composed of the core module
Tianhe, Tianzhou-4 cargo vessel and Shenzhou-14 crewed spaceship.
China's space station will be expanded from the foundational core module Tianhe into a
basic T-shaped three-module structure by the end of this year, with Tianhe in
the center and the two lab modules Wentian and Mengtian on each side of it.
Wentian is scheduled to arrive in July and Mengtian in October.
China also aims to operate
its first large space telescope around
2024 at the China Space Station, according to the country's manned space
program.
When being asked to comment on the U.S. activating National Space
Intelligence Center, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao
Lijian urged the U.S. to stop the
"weaponization and militarization of outer space".
