Upcoming REDD+ Learning Session: Benefit Sharing at Scale: Tools and Good Practices for Results-Based Land Use Programs

Dear all,

Please join us for the next WWF Forest and Climate online REDD+ Learning Session on Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 EST/16:00 CET

Topic: Benefit Sharing at Scale: Tools and Good Practices for Results-Based Land Use Programs

When: Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 EST/16:00 CET

What: Establishing transparent and equitable benefit sharing arrangements is a critical part of land use initiatives, including those that distribute result-based payments for emission reductions. But identifying how these incentives flow to a diverse range of stakeholders can be complex. The World Bank has designed a suite of resources to support government and program staff in the development and implementation of benefit sharing arrangements for jurisdictional results-based land use programs focused on forests, agriculture, natural resources, and climate change.

In this learning session, Katie O’Gara of the World Bank and Joanna Durbin of Conservation International will explore key themes of benefit sharing arrangements – benefits and beneficiaries, institutional, financial, and governance arrangements, stakeholder participation, and monitoring, evaluation, and adaptive management - and will highlight how these resources can provide practical and operational materials for countries to draw upon in preparing benefit sharing arrangements.

A Q&A will follow this presentation.

This is a free and open event. Please help us spread the word by sharing this announcement with any contacts who may be interested.

Best,
Emelin
