“Soil contamination, which is dramatically increasing in many parts of the world, particularly in agricultural land, has very long-ranging implication on our health,” says Luca Montanarella, Chair of the Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soil.
RI’s correspondent Oliver Gardener spoke with Montanarella last month at the 5th Plenary Assembly of the FAO Global Soil Partnership held in Italy. Oliver then headed to France to report from Désertif’ Actions, the International Summit on Land Degradation and Climate Change in Local Territories.
